Typical of the spate of urban apartment houses of its era by such specialists as J.E.R. Carpenter, this mid-block building appropriates the facade organization of a Georgian row at a greatly inflated scale. The overall block plan, in an H-configuration, accommodates four large apartments per floor. The building replaced five earlier rowhouses, and was built for Turner Associates, developers.
